HOW DO I USE THE CONTROL4 APP ON APPLE WATCH

FAVOURITES ON YOUR WRIST

Apple Watch now supports the Control4 App with this new update! Your selected Favourites will now appear on the Apple Watch for easy access to the media and devices you use the most. Accessible, one-touch controls on your wrist make your home more convenient and easier to use than ever before. Maximising convenience and access with this latest update! If your iPhone, Apple Watch and the Control4 App for iOS are all updated to the latest version, you’re all set! Press the Digital Crown to the Home Screen and look for the Control4 App! Control & monitor your home right from your wrist, this new update takes convenience to a whole new level.

Key features include:

  • Actions: Single-button control of your most popular and used shortcuts and scenes to set a mood or make a quick change.
  • Media: See what audio or video that is playing in each room in your house and change volume, add additional rooms, or turn things off.
  • Thermostats: See all thermostats in your home, adjust the temperature, and apply presets.
  • Lighting: Control individual lights in any room of your house or activate lighting scenes that control many lights at the same time.
  • Security: Check status of locks, unlock or lock doors, and open or close garage doors.
  • Local or Remote: Control your home from the comfort of your couch, or use your watch when you’re away at work or traveling.

HOW DO I USE THE CONTROL4 APP ON MY APPLE WATCH:

IF THE CONTROL4 APP DOES NOT APPEAR ON YOUR APPLE WATCH

  • Using your iPhone, open the Watch App

  • Scroll down to UNINSTALLED APPS

  • Find the Control4 App and tap INSTALL

  • Once installed, using your iPhone, open the Control4 App

  • On the Apple Watch, press the Digital Crown

  • Find the Control4 App and Tap to open

IF THE CONTROL4 APP IS BLANK

  • Using your iPhone, open the Control4 App

  • On the Apple Watch, press the Digital Crown

  • Find the Control4 App and Tap to open

  • The app on the Apple Watch will sync your project from the Control4 App on your iPhone

IF THE CONTROL4 APP SAYS ‘NO ROOMS FAVOURITED’

Because of the size of the screen, the Apple Watch cannot display the pages that you see in the Control4 App for iPhone. The Control4 App on the Apple Watch will only show: 

  • Rooms that you have Favourited

  • Devices that have been Favourited

  • Media that has been Favourited

However, Favourited Media has to execute an audio stream for it to display on the Apple Watch. For Example, if you favourite an Album, a Track or a Playlist, those buttons will appear on the Apple Watch. favourites that take you to a page will not show up on the Apple Watch. For example, if you favourited the Playlist Page, or an Album Page, they will not show up on the Apple Watch. 

In order to enjoy the Control4 App on the Apple Watch when you are away from home, an active subscription to 4Sight is required. 4Sight is Control4’s subscription for cloud-services; you can learn more about it here.

1. START THE MUSIC! 
Why pull out your phone and open an app when a keypad can start your favourite playlist in any room? Even better, a quick double-tap on the same button can start the music playing all over your house! 
 
2. CHOOSE DIFFERENT PLAYLISTS
Different moods call for different music. With some creative programming, you can switch between playlists with a colored light indicating what you’ve selected. 
 
3. CALLS UNINTERRUPTED
Working from home these days? Simply tap a button that pauses the TV or music in your home office when a call comes in. It sure beats fumbling with any other device when you only have moments to catch that call! 
 
4. GARAGE DOOR STATUS CHECK 
Never again leave bed to check if you’ve closed the garage. A light on your keypad can illuminate green when the garage is closed and red when it’s ajar. At a glance, you’ll know the door’s status—and you can even close it with a simple button tap. 
 
5. ENGAGE VACATION MODE 
There’s a lot to remember when leaving for vacation, so let your “Vacation” button do the work. It can set the temperature appropriately, arm the alarm, and turn off all the lights as you walk out the door. When you return home, double tap the same button to return the home to normal operation.  
 
6. CHANGE VOLUME AND CHANNEL
Rotary volume controls are so 20th century, but a keypad is sleek and modern and can easily adjust your audio system’s volume. Or it can just as easily be used to change the channels on the tube! 
 
7. ADJUST THE TEMP 
Fussing with a thermostat can be tricky—especially if it is remotely located. Label a couple of buttons on a keypad “Too Hot” and “Too Cold” and guests and family can easily adjust the temperature to the perfect setting! 
 
8. START A TIMER 
There are many times when a timer comes in handy, and whether you’re cooking or putting someone in “time out,” a keypad button can start a timer while you stay with the task at hand. Easily set pre-determined timers of, say, 1, 5, or 10 minutes based on button presses with changing LED lights indicating the length.  
 
9. GOODNIGHT, HOUSE
